I am also using a single layer of the brownell crossbow serving material. Holds up very well.
May be he used a layer over another to make it have a bigger contact area on the trigger claws? (less stress over the trigger ?)

Flashlights used to use bulbs, then came LED's, them came Luxeon Stars, now the newest, brightest most efficient emitter is called a Cree. I own almost every model Surefire makes, great company, great warranty, overpriced illumination tools. They are now falling behind due to their unwillingness to...

The string I use requires the most adjustment for brace height - dacron. I use it because it's easiest on the limbs and the quietest. Serving will wear with similar results on any string, so that isn't a factor. Excal uses the same serving material on all their strings, so if you want something dif...

Does your string are fully stretched? If everything is tight (specially scope) than check your brace heigh and keep an eye on it to see if its changing. If it becomes shorter, take of your string, put a few twists on it and put it again on the bow. Also, always cock your bow using the hope cocking a...

Gus: I hadn't heard of that method before but I can see how it would work. Sort of seems like a lot of trouble though. The vertical spin test doesn't require any test equipment. The vertical spin test can be performed almost anywhere even on a flat rock out in the woods in a pinch. Having the tip o...

Yes! You hold the shaft with hunting head attached in the vertical position (straight up and down) with the tip of the head on a hard surface like formica. Then you spin the shaft looking for concentricity at the junction where the arrow head and shaft meet. There should be no visible wobble. Somet...
