I agree, most of the activity has to be at night. Hopefully some cold weather will change that. I have been out 12 mornings and have seen deer only once. Last year I was covered up in the same location. No evidence of EHD in this immediate area.

Deer Movement - Impact of April Freeze , Drought & Warm

Between the reduced mast crop caused by a hard freeze last April and the Summer drought, I have seen dramatic change in the deer movements. I see about the usual number of rubs, but very few deer. I did not know if anyone else was having that experience. I am in Tennessee. I have been asking other's...

No comparison, the Steiner 7X50 Miltary Marine are the best. Great Value over time. You always pay for what you get. I must say that I don't use my Stiener as often archery hunting as I did when I gun hunted. Now it's all about how close instead what I can see. Now I hunt saddles and thick areas whe...

5 Total with Crossbow. Converted gun hunter who now uses a crossbow to hunt Urban Bucks. This is my 2nd season with Crossbow. Last year got two 8 pts and one 10 pt. Also a doe with a bigger body than the 8 pts. So far this season another big doe. Between the drought and the April freeze the deer are...

We all learn more from our mistakes than our victories! You just have the courage to share. Good luck on the 160 Class Buck. I expect to see a picture soon.

Great job! Big Boy makes up for all those years when you only dream of a buck like that one. Bet you won't be selling that Vortex anytime soon!

My experience has taken me back to the Wasp fixed broadheads. It's clearly a personal choice. I had success with Nap Spitfires. I tried the Rage, but felt more comfortable with the Wasp. If you make a accurate shot in the boiler room, the deer won't last very long. I place the most emphasis on shot ...

dick195252, I had a lease on 1000 acres 3 miles North of Waverly, which is about 10 miles West of McEwen for about 25 years. The Timber Company that owned the land sold it 4 years ago. I am not a biologist, but I observed more Bucks chasing Does during Muzzleloader season, which in TN is November 3 ...

I have to admit that I 've had couple of dry fires myself without any problems. I agree you should be okay without any visable damage.

Pokynojoe, this is a Davidson County buck. Where I hunt is a small backyard, so I am not going to get to specific. Loose lips sink ships. Hope you understand. Thanks.

10 pt Buck Cosmetic Surgery

Urban deer hunting at it’s best. As a converted rifle hunter, I now have the chance to hunt in city limits of Nashville in the backyard of a longtime friend only 15 minutes from my home. Only archery hunting is allow and there is little hunting pressure. For 25 years I rifle hunted on a lease on a ...
