I usually start using estrus scent sparingly about two weeks before the peak of the rut.

Sometimes using scent makes the bucks too aware. Therefore it would be better to use no scent other than cover scent.

I tried some of the mineral stuff you mix with 5 gallons of water to create a natural mineral licking spot. I tried it twice and have never seen a deer come near it and not any indication that the deer were even interested in it. But I have 150 apple trees that the deer deviored this year. Left me w...

Sure does answer the questions. A few years back there was an albino buck near a mountain town in the eastern U.S. All the town's poeple knew of this buck and he grew into a very respectable size buck. This 8 point albino was harvested by a non-resident hunter. I too was a non-resident hunter in the...

I recently purchased an Exocet 200 and was also blown away by the accuracy of this crossbow. I can shoot 50 yard 3 inch circles all day long from a bench. Some of my friends and family has commented on the loud "twang" it makes This deer season should be a blast this year. Amen to that, K...

The right DB was not contacting the right limb the same amount as the left side. I checked the bolt alignment with the target face and the bolt is not perpendicular to the target face, the bolt is angled to the right.

Thanks for the tip!

Dissipator Bars

Can the dissipator bars on the Excals be adjusted? The dissipator pads on my Exocet are not contacting the limbs equally. Does not seem to affect the accuracy. Should I adjust the dissipators for approximate equal pad contact?

I have not found the Powerbelts to be accurate in either my T/C BD or my Savage 10ML.

The Shockwaves 250 & 200 gr have given very good results in both rifles with 777 or Pyrodex.

I've also used 300gr Remington .458" with crush rib Harvester sabots and achieved excellent results.

The stringing aid makes it MUCH easier. I weigh 200 lbs and I could only get the string 1/2" from the end. I waited to get the stringer before stringing, a couple of days. It was well worth it. I thought about asking one of my sons to string my Exocet for me, but they would have rubbed it in ab...

For targeting I have removed the bleeder blade, so the Phantom is just two blade. I tune by aligning one blade with the _cock feather.

If the blade is not aligned, I also get sailing of the bolt over the top of the target when shooting @ 40 yards.

I am apprehensive of using a mechanical head for deer hunting, has anyone used the fixed Muzzy Phantom broadhead? I have both the 100 and 125 grain on hand. I also have a few G5 Montec in 85 grain.

The Phantom and Montec have proven very accuracte in target shooting.
