Another for the Boiler room team and the freezer
This one concludes and tops up the freezer meat for the year to come. I still have 1 tag left and have my eye on a big nocturnal buck captured on my trail cam. Hope to make him change his habits so that I can add him to the total score. Grizzly-Papa [img][img]http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r211/...

Where's my bolt?
The only thing I recovered from a complete pass through on a deer last Saturday was the broadhead with insert attached lying on the grass about 4 yards beyond where it had been standing. I inspected the body cavity when I field dressed it but no sign of the bolt and there was clearly an entry and ex...

I have never used any scent free products and have been successful just the same. Deer are a curious animal and scent alone may not bust you but couple that with movement and they are long gone. As an example, there was 2 does in front of me at 15 yards last Saturday. They were walking almost perpen...

Yes, I echo the same for fear of missing anyone. Congratulations to all who have legally harvested a deer, moose, bear.....this season and to those who have yet to, just remember it is really nice being out there in the fresh air amongst the wildlife enjoying everything that nature has to offer. Bes...

Another point of view. I have been hunting for 40 years now. This is the first time ever last weekend that I have ever felt threatened/uncomfortable hunting deer. The laws have changed in Ontario and the wolves/coyotes seem to have picked up on the fact that they are a protected species. They are op...

Hey Alaspan, Nice buck and thanks for putting one in there for the team. I have not been so fortunate yet. Was out in the tree stand a few times last week but have been doing battle with the coyotes. May have to thin one or two out of the pack now as they have started following me out of the tree st...

My Argo was many moons ago Mike. Year was probably late 1980's if I can remember and had the Kohler engine and hydraulic brakes. First thing I did when I got her was to replace all drive chains which were banging on the plastic when torquing the engine. What a back breaking job that was  The te...

Funny you should bring this subject up J. Spent last weekend disking a couple of food plots at the camp. We mowed the tall grass first as it makes it a whole lot easier all the while looking for the bolt / broadhead I lost last fall after a complete pass through on the first buck. Must have spent 4 ...

Wal-Mart currently have this one available for $297 Can. I'm waiting for them to have a clearance sale soon so that I can pick one up as a disposable item if anything ever goes wrong with it. LOL You cannot go wrong at that price (or lower). http://www.easterntools.com/product_detail.asp?ProductID=6...
