Ugly? I think they are beautiful. They are also one of the most widely eaten fish in the US. They make up a big part of what shows up in commercial nets. But remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In the words of Frank Zappa "consider the beauty of a name like RALPH" :lol:

We released all the cats. That said anything under 10 pounds to me is good eating. especially in the spring or winter. Colder water especially when caught deep seems to keep the meat firmer. The smaller the fish the less toxins it will have absorbed. When it comes to the monsters we hope they live t...

we were fishing the Tennessee river using cut 3 inch chunks of skipjack herring. We were using 8/0 circle hooks and 3 ounces of lead to keep it on bottom in 57-60 foot of water.

Wabi you started the fishing post Saturday a new friend took me out to show me how to target big Cats. We had the day of a lifetime and 3 of us boated over 400 pounds of fish. He wasn't marking many fish but when he did find some they were stacked up. we landed a 47lb, 46 lb, 43lb 2 more over 30 lbs...

Fine the crap out of them and if they can't come up with the cash then let them work it off on a chain gang doing Road repairs or building a border wall. Poachers rarely stop because they can't buy a license.

Congrats on a great buck and job well done. You can buy capes and I am sure your going to want the biggest neck circumference you can get for that big ol boy. ebay has plenty of capes and some taxidermist do as well. I even know processors who have kept capes to sell.

The lake name in Ontario I believe its named Chibilo (sp?) and about maybe 70 miles from Sault Ste Marie.

Does this sound Familiar to anyone?
