Good Book

My wife was kind enough to surprise me with a copy of Deerskins into Buckskins by uberhippie Matt Richards. It gives really detailed instructions on how to braintan a deerhide. I used his method on a skin I had used to train my dog to track and it turned out great, and was easier than I would have e...

Drowning mice is unethical, so is waterboarding them. You should only take broadside shots with a slingshot from inside 10 feet. The fact that you are using bait is also appalling. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I think I would shoot one and wait until the second buck tired out and then try to separate them. If that either didn't work or just wasn't safe enough, I always have the Glock handy. I think if you can't save one, you are obligated to kill the other. Dragging out two deer isn't my idea of a fun day...

My first shot with the Vixen at 40 yards ruined two arrows. The guarantee is no joke. :)

This will be good news for my wife. She wants to hunt, but only wants to go behind the house. No firearms allowed back there.

O/T Where Do I Turn In My Man Card?

Last week, my wife got the sewing machine out and made some dresses for our little girl. I asked her if she would cut the sleeves down on one of my BDU shirts for turkey season. She told me to do it myself. When I pleaded sewing ignorance, she sat down and showed me how to do it - myself. So I cut d...

The first deer I ever shot was with a head shot. I was using a rifle I knew was a 1/2 MOA or better, and I was practicing shooting to the tune of 1000+ rounds per week. The shot was easy. It was my first deer hunt, so I didn't know much about the whole ethical shot thing. I had been trained to take ...

I think the whole point DoeMaster was trying to make with the thread is that if government wants to ban every sort of religious observance, then the government employees should not benefit from religious holidays. Right now they kind of have their cake and are eating it too.
