red dot for low light conditions... suggestions?

Been a while since I posted... probably because I've been busy fishing, getting married, working, two weeks lobstering in they keys on my honeymoon (the two of us brought home 104 lobster tails), etc. However, hunting season is just around the corner for me herre in NW Florida. Here's my question......

Re: A pretty sturdy bear... don't you guys think?

So, I blazed out to the woods yesterday in order to just barely squeeze in a sit. Had to step over two huge piles of steamy bear poo. Anyway, I sat and saw nothing. Not much deer sign either. So, I pulled not just the card, but the whole camera. I'm going to set it up somewhere else. Reason I'm post...

Re: A pretty sturdy bear... don't you guys think?

I have no clue. I have probably seen 20 different bears at this property, but obviously I've never put one in the dirt. SO... I have zero experience field judging them... having never been able to confirm how big I might THINK one is. I can tell you that after having seen mabye 20 different bears on...

A pretty sturdy bear... don't you guys think?

I'm in NW Florida and have lots and lots of bears that have used this little 40 acres piece for years. Over the years I have had as many as seveal small boars, two sows with cubs (up to 3), and several small 2 year old bears that would come and go as they pleased. Well, this big bastid moved in befo...

Re: String Waxing?

I picked up some wax and mine is of the "hard" variety. I rub it up and down the string and then rub with my thumb and forefinger creating enough friction to heat the wax / string. Once heated the serving and string more readily accept the wax. Now, question. Different, but along the same ...

looks good to me! Especially the Bombay sapphire. Dirty martini, up with blue cheese stuffed olives, please!

Its not often that I'm in the woods with snow on the ground. Maybe that's why the daytime silence out there after a fresh snow never ceases to amaze me.

Axiom. GT Laser IIs with luminoks and Rage 2 blade 100 grain. This my first year with a crossbow, but I have been bow hunting for about 5 years now. I have found Rage is hard to beat as long as a textbook shot. That being said, I'm convinced that I would have found that big buck on 11/11 had I been ...

Re: aghhhh!Last

As some of you may know, I lost a very nice deer on Friday, 11/11. Short version: It was a semi-risky shot and I tried to squeeze the arrow behind the shoulder of a quatering-to big buck. I got high and forward a litte bit and managed to hit likely the SE corner of his shoulder blade. Anyway, it was...

Re: How's THIS for a deer?

If you added up the points of all the bucks I have ever killed I don't think it would total the 27(?) points on that guy.

Neat critter.
