Moultrie D40 trail cam problem

I just got this older Moultrie D40. IR sensor, laser and set-up functions all work, but the camera won't take pics in either auto or manual modes. No pics, no flash, nothing. I don't think its an SD card issue, as the camera won't register any pictures or events in its internal memory either. Is thi...

Re: Why aren't the deer hitting this cornfield?

Deer density is not high in my area and I think you guys are right; lots of forbs & browse this time of year, yummier stuff than immature corn. Perhaps that will change as the season moves on. I've also heard it said that deer eat a cornfield from the inside out (security cover). Gotta check that.

Why aren't the deer hitting this cornfield?

The broader area is a roughly equal mix of woodlots and agricultural fields, but most of the fields are in hay or pasture, except for one field that is in corn. I figured that the lone cornfield would be an obvious draw, but there's no sign yet of deer feeding on the corn (no nibbled cobs or peeled ...

Re: Anyone else seeing Woodcock?

Yup, did some dog training on them when they first arrived. They start showing up as soon as the snow starts melting in patches. Basically, when you start seeing robins, you know the woodcock are here too. Woodcock are nesting now, so we leave them be until October. Then its back to this... http://i...

Re: Good day scouting and picked up some sheds.

My lab found this one for me this past weekend. Not surprising she located it; its an old shed and it smells! A day later and my truck still kind of stinks! LOL

Saturday morning shed hunt

With the snow here finally disappearing in patches, I took my lab for a walk to flush some woodcock and hopefully find sheds. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v452/josiah1/2014%2004%2012%20Shed%20Hunt/IMG_20140412_101543_zps13e76264.jpg We hit a local deer yard. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...

Re: Thanks bellerivercrossbowhunter!

No problem buddy. Glad to see it went to a fellow x-bow hunter!! I have been collecting them since my first deer harvest in 1997. I will have to do something with them someday!! Cheers I've got one for every year I've killed deer; started in 1991. Then had a bit of dry spell, but nothing like The L...

As Wabi said, contact Excal. I think the Wolverines had a similar issue.

Re: E'cet 165 Shootin Chrony

Good post Vixen! Thanks for quantifying this. I had my 165 chronographed years ago, but I don't remember the speed. However, when I put Magtips and a FF string on it, and combined it with lighter arrows (368 gr. w/ head), there was a noticeable increase in speed and a flatter trajectory.

Re: Still Hunting = Frustration!

I'm using my exomax and it's the only thing I've ever used while stalking deer. You're right, it doesn't make life any easier and to say I'm exhausted after a long stalk would be an understatement. :D You're killing me! I might just have to try it if I find myself in the last minute of the 3rd peri...
