If it had not been for a friend and neighbor who already hunted with a crossbow I would have had to sit the rest of the 2008 season out due to injuries falling 20 feet from my treestand a week or so prior to borrowing a PSE Rattler from him. He had no problem letting me use the crossbow and made it ...

2008 was the first year that I took a whitetail with a xbow. I borrowed this PSE Rattler from a next door neighbor to hunt with after a 20 foot fall from my treestand a week earlier. If it had not been for the kindness of my neighbor letting me borrow this crossbow I would have had to sit the rest o...

I agree, the limitations of the xbow and … the hype we have to endure about hunting with an xbow. The people that I know who hunt with a crossbow (including me) hold themselves to a higher standard when hunting simply because if we screw up and cripple or loose a deer with our crossbow then they use...

For years shooting my recurve I wouldn't use anything but 125 muzzy broadheads. With speeds less than 200 feet a second coming from my recurve they were very reliable and caused great blood trails. But since moving to an Xbow I have switched from muzzy to a mechanical broadhead. For turkey this spri...

Yea, I thought about the pipe insulation but I hate putting tape on the stock…to sticky. Plus the hardwoods camo would look better. I know, I know, looks aren’t everything but it’s still new and it goes along with my OCD (lol). The newer stocks have a series of hash marks just above the trigger guar...

Cheek piece... has anyone bought one yet?
I was playing witht he idea of getting one of the new cheek pieces that they have came out with for thier 2009 models. I checked my Phoenix today and it is one of the newer stocks that will take one but I wanted to here from one of you first to see if it was worth it. I like the idea of having the s...

I did some research and found out that the broadhead picture I have on my profile was made by microtech I have tried my best to find out more but I think that the company may be out of business. Microtech made a broadhead called the tomahawk which may or may not be the one pictured. Still...I sure w...

The arrow holder at top is an old detachable quiver that I had laying around from one of my old bows. I cut it off about half way and sanded it flat to lay flat against the leather. I then attached it to the back part of the body of the quiver by drilling three small holes and using the brass screws...

wildwindom - I found several small brass screws and nuts in my junk drawer ( I'm a pack rat and never throw anything away)and drilled holes in the sides and then locked them down with loc-tite to keep them from coming apart. The section they are in is doubled anyway so I drilled the back hole out ju...

Season is over and I get bored easy. So lets make something!
Well it’s that time of year again, sitting around bored because deer season is now over and having more time on my hands than I know what to do with. So… yesterday while cleaning up around my desk I found several large pieces of scrap leather that I had forgotten about and thought that I might try a...
