I'm the new guy...and an avid rifle hunter....but being as this is a CROSSBOW forum, I'd think that animals taken with a CROSSBOW should be the only ones in the contest....but that's just me. I belong to rifle hunting forums, and if they do a photo contest, I won't be ticked if they say rifles only....

Mike~ I write magazine editorials for a living, so I think I'm qualified to say this.....You have a fantastic writing style! It's refreshing to see the gift of cyber penmanship on BB's such as this, especially in a world where "ew I thot tht e2a got pwn3d lst nite" seems to be the prevelan...

Yes, I was referring to the shaft setup, with the assembled shaft equalling 250 grains. I will be adding a head seperately. My ultimate goal is to end up with a luminock and BH equipped complete arrow weighing in at 350 gr.

Thanks

PS, the bow being used would be one of the ones in my sig :)

In it's most basic element, what it comes down to is this: Straight edges cut cleaner , serrated edges cut better . I don't know about you guys, but I want my BH's to cut better, I have little concern about how clean it cuts. I'll save the "clean" cuts for when I'm processing :) At the end...

Arrow recipe....is it possible

To get a shaft set up that would have:

Length @ 20"
A total weight of 250 gr
luminoks installed
FOC +/-15%
using factory offerings, just swapping inserts/etc.

thoughts?

So I just watched the Grim Reaper BH video.......

......seemed pretty impressive (as you'd expect from a manufacturer's video of course), but it intrigued me enough to ask here if anyone has used them.

Any experience with these heads?

A razor sharp edge is a razor sharp edge, regardless of whether it is straight or serrated....the difference lies in the amount of cutting edge per inch of blade. As I said in the other thread, a 1" straight edge has 1 inch of cutting surface...but a 1" serrated edge has 1.5-1.75X that. Th...

^^^^^Edit: Again, please see the CURRENT regs.....things have changed. LoneWolf~ I don't have a link, but here is the verbatum from the 2009 book, page 21. NOTE: The criteria for broadheads used for bow hunting big game and wild turkey have been simplified. A broadhead used for these species must ha...

I really like the looks of that serrated one, I may have to give one a try.. Just a little information... Serrated broadheads are illegal to hunt with in Ontario. This information comes from the Ontario Hunting Regulations Summary: A hunting broadhead must have a minimum of 22mm (0.87 in) wide arro...
