Re: CrossBows And Hand Climbing TreeStands
I tie to the stirrup but place the bow flat on the ground. I tie of to my climber while I climb. I make the rope about 20' so I know when I hit the end of the rope I'm the required height.

Re: Can you use a Dropzone Scope on slug gun?
Thanks guys for the input. Wish the scopes were that cheap in Canada. The Nikon Slug Hunter scope is $250 up here. I will check eBay but then I need to be careful with the "brokerage" fees.

Can you use a Dropzone Scope on slug gun?
I'm upgrading my Drop Zone scope on my crossbow. I'm not wild about the Bushnell Banner scope I currently have on my slug gun. I'm wondering about putting the older Drop Zone scope on the gun. Anyone know if you can use a Drop Zone scope on a slug gun. I'm not sure it'll take the pounding although t...

Re: Quartering Shots
Exactly the same scenario as GALAMB. I took the shot and the arrow passed through the rib cage then deflected off of the far rib cage and proceeded down the abdominal cavity. The arrow remained in the deer totally. It died quickly because the lungs were hit and the diaphragm was ruptured. there was ...

Re: GAME CAMERA USERS!! !!
I bought a refurbished Uway NightTrakker Nt50 from Uway for $120 plus shipping and tax. It lasted one week then started to fire randomly and often . I'm currently trying to get a refund. I bought a Cuddeback for its quick trigger (0.25 s) and it's been very good so far. Easy on batteries and awesome...

Hoping I get some for Christmas Galgo. Along with all the other advise I think the Lumenocks will seal the deal.

Re: Tree stand scare
I've heard of the bottom platform sliding it's way down the tree as you sit in the upper stand (thus the tether) but never a disconnect. You did everything else right and that's why there was no injury. Congrats!

Great advice folks, as usual. All the suggestions are doable and I will follow-up. Paul I know that writing down process sounds odd but I'm a biology person so I understand retraining the brain. More "deliberate" practice is what I need. Thanks again for all the suggestions. I do have a b...

Re: obstruction of hunt advice
I wouldn't talk to the neighbour unless you're prepared to loose the landowner's permission. As soon as you say anything you can't deal with the dogs. I think you need to make the point that dogs running free are unacceptable. I'm sure if you do some research you could come up with something that wo...

Can't Keep My Head Down
Many of you folks have been shooting much longer than I have been so I need a suggestion. I've shot my Excal for 8 years. My problem is simple. I tend to look up as soon as I launch the bolt when I'm shooting at a deer. I don't do it when I practice (twice a week). Recently I shot high over a deer a...

Congratulations Korey. I bet the dropped range finder closed the deal. I wonder if he thought the sound was produced by the buck he just heard grunt. I bet you had to get the "muscle" out of bed!

Great story. Just proves "your never too old to feel young!" Gotta love that shot of adrenaline! It happens everytime to me (well not usually that bad) and I have missed two nice deer because I forget to adjust for the range.
