Ya, the new bows have to be sweet! Not sure if one is in the budget or not though. My bow has to be around 20 years old now but still going strong.

Re: Noise Help - Please !!

I did have that experience one time of one "jumping the string" at approximately 20 yards so it can be done. However, it is going to be rare. I find many folks new to crossbows hate the noise and think it will bother the deer. Well, have you ever hunted with a recurve or longbow? Very quie...

Re: Crankaroo problem

Well it was scary the first time it happened for sure. Didn't take too long to figure it out, especially after trying with the rope cocker and all was well then.

Crankaroo problem

While cocking my bow with the rope cocker, all is well. However, most of the time I have to use the crankaroo. I had a hard time figuring this out at first as I was only using the crank and just before the string got to the trigger a rather loud crack would be heard. It sounded like a limb was crack...

Re: I can hear!

Hi all, Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support, Esp. from the hearing impaired members. I pray all you guys get your hearing fixed soon. I am lucky in that my aids were paid for by WBC because the hearing protection I wore at work at the mine and logging were woefully inefficient. That and fire ...

Re: Public or Private - Where do you hunt?

Over a period of many years I have hunted both. Growing up on a farm helped a lot. Then I also began hunting public land and did so for many, many years. We used to go for anywhere from a week to 2 weeks on a 325 mile trip and set up army tents. We had a ball. Now I don't go so far to hunt and we ar...

Re: My 3 legged Tripawd

Hoss, we had a 3 legged Lab when I was young. She did great and loved to hunt. We only had problems with her when she got old. She'd get so excited if we got a gun out that she'd wear herself out before we could even go to a field. I really felt for that dog and she was very intelligent.

Good luck.

Re: Hunting from a tree stand

This question pops up all over the place, especially at bow ranges. Lots of explanations on where to aim, blah, blah, blah. I have never aimed any different for yardages no matter what the height. If the deer is at 20 yards, I am for 20 yards. If at 30, I am at 30, etc. If I were shooting a rifle ou...

Re: Idiot attempts to ruin it for us....

Sorry, but this crap happens every year and we usually see more than one occasion where the DNR gets them. They usually end up doing the very same thing the following year. It matters not whether it was with crossbow, shotgun, rifle, etc., etc. They are not hunters for sure but are the same stupid j...

Re: Feedback on set ups

Welcome to the forum Centrex. It sounds like you have done some good homework and are very knowledgeable when it comes to archery. That is good. The only thing I will add to what the other fellas have written is that all of my crossbow shot deer have been shot using the 125 grain spitfires. I've had...

The spooks were out

I just had to post this. It was a terrible morning on Halloween day but afterwards I just had to laugh and thought some might see the humor in it too. I've done some mighty dumb things in my life and hunting is no different. Like the time I climbed up to the stand, got all set and dropped my gloves....
