Re: Allan Broad heads on a 2116
I do not hunt out of a tree so my shots are level. I also do not hunt in one place I hunt in a lot of places. Shooting level if you miss usually means lost arrow so with expensive broad heads means at least a 20 dollar bill thrown away. Before some smart ass says don't miss. Pretty easy to do when a...

Re: Allan Broad heads on a 2116
They make new ones that are short and low profile. The blades seem sturdy on these with a chisel point. For the record I have bought inexpensive broad heads for years and never had a problem with any of them and have killed every deer I have shot with them except for loosing one deer and that was be...

Re: Plastic Nocks
I like the idea of the Parker Capture nocks as they cover the top and bottom of the string. No going over or under. I just looked at my Wolverine I think they would work but not sure I know they will for my Parker as they were designed for it. Parker does use a top latch trigger system. http://img.p...

Re: Rated R
I made a head shot once on a doe by accident I aimed for her chest and as I shot she dropped her head and the bullet hit the top of her head right where I was aiming for her chest. Only good part of this was no meat was wasted.

Re: Plastic Nocks
I was using a Boo string on mine I sure cannot fault the string or the bow I never had any issues shooting with aluminum inserts either regular flat nocks or just a front end insert on both ends. Only had problems with the flat plastic. They looked fine after I shot them on the range. No I did not s...

Re: Anybody ever eat raw venison?
What is jerky but dried raw meat. When I first made jerky I air dried it. Dehydrators were not in vogue them days and instructions for using a oven were not common knowledge either they recommended air drying. Seems to me i must have read that in an old outdoor life when I was a kid.[ /quote] Dang ...

Re: Plastic Nocks
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not use them. I lost the ONLY Shot I had a deer last year and a nice buck besides because some one told me here that moon nocks were not recommended with Excal bows. So I filed them flat and level (used a square to check) and I shot several times at the range good so ...

Parker Capture Nocks
Any one try them with an Excalibur> Just wondering as I now use a Parker but I will keep my Old Wolverine too and I would like to use the same arrows if I had to use the Wolverine. The whole flat nock thing lost me a nice buck last fall. A friend gave me some arrows with half moon nocks on them sinc...
