Re: Scope shim question
OK went and shot it today to check it out. I had backed the elevation down to about the middle if its range. Took a shot I was about 4 inches low adjusted and at 22 yards using the crosshair I was one inch high right at the top of the 2 inch bullseye. At 30 yards using the first chevron marker on th...

Re: Is this true?
Thanks I have killed deer with 100, 125 and 140/50 grain broad heads Just wondering on what you all thought. On the average I do not shoot over 40 yards with 30 or closer being the norm.

Is this true?
Read an article about crossbow arrows and they guy said to use 125 grain broad heads if your gonna shoot at a longer distance. Said they just are more accurate at a longer distance any truth to this or just his opinion?

Re: Scope shim question
Yea I saw your post that you were shooting high. I will try 4 shims in the back that should give me some lee way. I bought some steel shim stock at the gun shop. Cost me a grand total of 50 cents.

Re: How long before your first archery deer?
Back in 68 I shot my first bow kill with a 42 pound Ben Pearson Recurve. I shot a fork horn buck on a deer drive my friends parents were making to us. He came in behind me on the drive I do not even think he was aware that folks were coming the other way as they had just started the drive. It as mor...

Re: Rope Cocking Aid
Parachute cord works great that is what I used on mine when I replaced the rope. Just make sure you get the real parachute cord with the 7 strands of nylon in it not the cheap stuff they call parachute cord with the white single strand center.

Scope shim question
My scope is the older Excalibur with the chevrons and it is not the one with the ring for adjusting. Anyway shooting at about 23 yards and it is two inches low with the scope maxed up elevation wise. Elevation is fine. So I know you have to shim the back ring how much shim material will do it?

Re: GREAT Commentary on the WI Crossbow Hunting Issue
If not for two Senators it should have been this year maybe if we are lucky it will be. I can use a crossbow I have a disabled permit but I would like to see any one who wants to use one be able to besides being 65 or disabled.
Hummer I am sure that Moulton would be for it.
