Re: Ar/Ok Hog Hunt Report

Great looking trip guys! Glad you all had some success. Seeing the pictures of the stalking in on the bedded hogs reminds me of some hunts I've had l like that. Great stuff!

Re: OT home made fly reel

It performed great until the smooth round nut that I made to hold the click pawl went missing  I put it together and took it apart so many times during the build and knew it would be taken apart again, I failed to put some loc-tite on the nut. It was also hard to get a grip on the nut to tight...

Re: Your season

My deer season was short. Only made it to the woods 3 times. But of those three trips I was able to get two deer. A nice doe and a 4 pointer.

Re: OT home made fly reel

I've got a custom 2wt rod and a new dt2f line here. 8) Everything is frozen solid today, though. :( Have you had a chance to try it yet? Do you know what blank was used with your rod? Someone you know build it? I've built 4 rods so far. Very addicting!!! I've fished where my eylets keep freezing up...

Have you been able to test drive it yet?
Not yet Wabi. Just finished polishing it today. Haven't even put line on it yet. I might be able to give it a spin some time next week.

I did not know that the riser changed? Will the GP mount not fit anymore? Have not really thought about getting back into production on the mount.

Re: OT home made fly reel

Outstanding!! How many hours do you have in that beautiful piece of work? :D :D :D Going to guess around 40. I did make a drawing before starting but a few things changed along the way which took some extra time. Also several hours just in filing and polishing. The main machining to get what looks ...

Re: My stirrup an rope riggings

It all looks good and strong but just curious as to why you used for a foot stirup? Was something wrong with the aluminum original? Also might worry about the rope of the stirup flipping up and being in the path of the bolt. Again not trying to knock it, just curious.

OT home made fly reel

Fly fishing has definitely become my sport to be. It has been a while since I have tinkered in the machine shop but lately I have had the itch. I just completed making this all aluminum fly reel. I came up with an open bore design which I have never seen before. I have the spool riding on two o-ring...

Re: Has anyone made a stock extension for their crossbow?

I put a recoil pad on mine then took it off and put a walnut semi-hook butt plate. The pad made it a little long for me and the hook looks near.just a thought. Paul, my modest friend, show them a picture! It's awesome! Boo is very kind. Here are a couple of pics. http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...
