70 years old and wants to use an xbow
I have a good friend that is 70 and wants to bowhunt with his grandsons. The whole bunch are avid hunters and trappers. He asked me what I thought about some bows his grandsons were recommending (they had done the internet search and read something or another in Sports Afield (or one of those mags)....

Re: Trouble installing lumenok
When I used the boiling water I did have a target tip in the insert, but emersed the shaft so that probably 1/2 - 1" of shaft was in the water as well. Could that be the problem? Did the hot water screw up the shaft?

Trouble installing lumenok
I just got a Lumenok for Easton Beman Carbon bolts and .297" inside diameter carbon arrows. I grabbed one of my Firebolts & took out the insert (boiling water), ran a drill bit in it (by hand) did not feel any roughness. Tried to insert the Lumenok but no go. Pushed it hard against my reloa...

Re: Congratulations to Kenny Barr
Too many put their hobbies and goals above their families. It is good to hear that someone who has been so successful in archery is willing to lower its priority in their life for something that is really important.

Re: Good to see Excalibur expanding
I have looked at the dealer list. In my area rarely do any of these places actually have them on site. They will order them and thats about it. To have a local store with even a couple of em on site will be great. I see they are stocking the cheaper 10 points $799 and down. Last year they had some i...

Good to see Excalibur expanding
Went in to our local Dunhams sporting goods store tonite. My son was working there and told me they got the word that they would soon be selling Excal bows. They had Barnett and 10-pt last year. Was real glad to hear they will soon be in a store.....near me!

Re: need target recommendation
For target tips I just picked up a target called the "Hurricane". My arrows from my Exocet penetrate about 6 inches. Cost was in the mid $ 30.00 range. For broadheads I use "The Block". Can shoot multiple sides and arrows also penetrate about 6-8". Cost is about $ 100.00. Long
