Re: Crossbow Bolts
Front. It's all about getting more weight on the front and less on the back. This improves the FOC (Forward Of Center) of the arrow which helps the arrow's flight / accuracy and consistency - especially in windy / rainy conditions.

Re: Crossbow Bolts
You can use any of those arrows. Easton makes the Excalibur Firebolts for Excalibur. They are slightly different than the PowerBolts. If I'm not mistaken, Firebolts are a little lighter and use a different size insert. Just make sure you're getting the right insert for the arrow you choose. Also, if...

Re: Arrow Wrap Size
1" might leave a 1 or 2/16" gap. The 1" wraps are for smaller carbon arrows. I use 1 5/16" wraps meant for aluminum arrows and I get about a 3/16" overlap. 4" is a great length if you're using 2" vanes.

Re: Ar/Canuck/Mo Hog Adventure
Great story / pics! A quadruple lung shot double pass through eh?!?! That's a neat trick Don!
But it's still not a complete hunting trip unless a vehicle or piece of machinery gets shot.
Congrats guys!

Re: Arrow Wrapping
I have watched a few videos on how to wrap an arrow. One person I spoke with suggested that I remove the nock before applying the wrap. All of the videos I watched did not speak of doing that. Should the nock be removed before applying the wrap? Thank you. Raymond Heck no! Just stick them on a hair...

Re: Removing inserts
in another thread on here, someone found a bolt that threaded into the insert, put the bolt end into a vice, heated the bolt up with a torch and pulled the insert out that way. just a thought, haven't tried it myself, but will shortly, lumenoks are in the mail! That works. Pliers can be used in lie...

Re: Arrow Wrapping
<SNIP> Pheonix Tom that's a good looking set of arrows there looks like the wraps stop at the end of the vane I like em Thanks Saxman! I know how you like those Fusions. I also like the look of the short wraps. I cut the wraps in half. Helps minimize FOC loss when adding wraps and I'm a cheap basta...

Re: Need opinions on which vanes I should be looking at
I really like the NAP Quikspin Hunter ST vanes. They not only look good, but they really make the arrow fly well and they're tough as nails. I've had issues with the Fusion vanes not adhering properly when fletched with the Arizona EZ Fletch jigs and I'm working with another member here to try to re...

Re: Arrow Wrapping
Oh, I dont know about that Wabi. I think I can wrap, strip, re-wrap faster than anyone lacquering, stripping and relacquering. However, I've done over 2700 now. You are very correct about one thing though, they sure help with fletch adhesion no matter which you do. I have to agree with John....

Re: Arrow Wrapping
wraps are just a thin peice of sticky tape paper that "wrap" around the nock end of the shaft yo help find your arrows after a shot. The dont help flight. They are for looks and a personal touch to a plain arrow :D as said, they go on first and then the vanes go on after that Watchu talki...

Re: Jig-a-loo
The whole "rail lube" question comes up regularly but I never pay attention because all I do is use a credit card to scrape the rail and leave it at that. What should Casper have used here? Silicone??? It's good to know Jig-a-loo is solvent based. I wouldn't have thought that. Thanks for p...
