I practice out to 40 offhand, and an occasional 50 yard shot rested just in case that special buck does appear. However, all my shots were taken under 35 yards and I plan to keep it that way. Shooting a Vortex at an advertised 330 fps (closer to 315 actual) the bolt buries into a 16" foam targe...

Actually a fine file did the trick. I used low Burris rings causeing the speed ring to hit the back of the base. I could have used taller rings but that would have decreased my blank point range considerably. Only had to file down about 1/4" for about 1" horizontally and that gave me the r...

Sumner, I traded my Equinox for a Vortex because I was having trouble cocking the former; then I learned how to cock it by watching the Excalibur vidio. I made the string cocker quite a bit shorter so that I have to pull the string up to the second hook wih my dominant hand, some 10 inches of so. On...

Well, I dropped my bow while testing my first fletching outcome. As a result the bow shot high on the next shot....right trough a 5/8" cedar board and two chicken wire fences. One of the vanes was torn up, otherwise the bolt was unscathed. That Loc Tight gel is some fantastic stuff. And just $2...

Using the AZ Jig with bolts

Started using the EZ, practicing on some old nocked shafts that needed re fletching. Am running into a problem keeping the shaft steady in the jig. I've indexed the jig so the nock is right with the cock vane. However, because the half moon knock is so shallow it sits ON the partition that is normal...

Thanks, big guy, that's exactly what I did. Got a reply from the Excal marketing man on the same post below (my computer was screwy due to the storm so I didn't know if posts were going thru) that I must have the old style base. Most current one fixed the problem.

Scope relief

Can't get my Lumi Zone forward enough to give me the desired eye refief using Burris low rings. The speed knob hits the base. Vertical alignment is great so I don't want to change the rings unless absolutely ness. Heard that Excalibur was introducing a revised base that takes care of the problem. Ye...

I've purchased Beamen bolts whose knocks were not lnglued in. The kock was loose enough so I could turn it by hand to match the cock feather. Used them extensively, never lost a knock, still can turn them. Luminocks are not glued in either.

Fletching Bolts

Starting to get my ducks in a row for fletching bolts. Got my jig and Goat Tough glue, some practivce vanes, etc. Today the local shop let me know that finding a gue that works with carbon shafts isn't easy (including Goat Tough). I'd like to hear it from those who have actual experience on this top...

Scope base

Seems I need just a bit more eye relief for my LumiZone/Vortex combination. Using low Burris rings and the eye/scope alignment is perfect. A bit more eye relief would make it even better. Can't push it forward any more because the speed ring is hitting the base. Is there another base that wil...

Deck lube?

May have hit on something through my incessant experimentation. Tried Molibdeum Disolfide powder (moly) as a deck lube. Figured if it's used to make bullets and barrels slick it might work on x bow decks. It does, somewhat, but it's also messy. So I cleaned it off using Ballistol, a gun cleaner/lubr...
