You know, there is a use for all the wasted apples. I drive right by an old orchard on the way to pheasant hunting and tha pples just go to the ground and never are used. Down by the dam on Muskingum River there is a pear tree in the old locktenders house (abandoned) and I went down and filled sever...

OMG The truth is coming out - there are more baiters admiting to their sins. I wonder if the masterbaiter is gonna show up before this thread peters out.

My gosh you guys are tight with the corn. I been feeding 100 # a week in one spot. I heard that it is best to just toss it on the ground since they can pass diseases back and forth through any type of above ground feeder. Corn is only $4.15 a 50# bag here which is a rip off since farmers are only ge...

Yes Jay, I have apple trees that they were wild about when the apples were falling. It seems the rest of apples are hanging on pretty good and I hope to make a couple dozen jars of apple butter so they better leave them alone. I live right on the edge of about 1000 acres of woods and I just hunt out...

Favorite bait???

Here in Ohio it is legal to bait deer so I do it. I have noticed that they like sunflower seeds over cracked corn. Don't seem to like cracked corn. Got some shelled corn today so will see how that works. I wondered about horse sweet feed or chicken scratch? Also heard they love persimmons but I don'...

Ya it slowed down in Ohio last night.... Freaking heat wave - I don't want to arrow one right now anyhow with as hot as it is. Supposed to get cold in next few days and rain. That should perk them back up.

Hell I just trying to get it up to the published specs which are 301 fps with Series 22. It's plenty accurate. Maybe just the flemish twist will bring it up to that.

Brace height

I am new to tuning crossbows - last one I had was setup by Dan Miller and I sold it before it needed a string change. Anyhow I have a new Phoenix with the Excel string - brace height is 7/8" and I read that 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 is sweet spot. Now I chrono'd this bow with Series 22 Gold-Tip with Wasp ...

Speed Ring...

Ok I'm an idiot, but maybe I am learning. I just thought the speed ring on the Vari-zone was a power zoom like on other scopes. Never correlated it to arrow speed. After reading another post on here about setting speed ring I now became aware that maybe there is more to it. Just what does magnificat...

Me tooooo. I get off on just watching their antics. Soemtimes when they are a little wary they do this stiff legged walk with their front legs. With each step they act like they are trying to drive their hoof deeper into the dirt. What is this all about? I put a salt block by my corn bait site and t...

Aaaah it is fun being in a wheelchair... My dentist came up behind me in the grocery store and banged into the back of my chair with his shopping cart. I was torqued, but so glad that people can understand that most of us wheelers don't take it too serious and they can play with us a little. I alwya...

I'm wondering the same thing. My Phoenix was delivering arrrows at 285 fps today with standard Excel string shooting Series 22 Gold-Tip with Wasp Boss 100gr broadheads. I was disgusted - I thought this bow would do 300 fps so anyhow I am wondering about the Fast Flight Flemish string. I live close t...
