Groundpounder, same thing happened to me in Ontario. The CO wrote me up for fishing closed water. When I got to court (after taking a day off of work and driving 2 hours) I explained the situation to the Justice of the Peace. He could see the landmark being used was ambiguous and he apologized on b...

Has anyone in Ontario been asked for their PAL and the gun registration certificate? I don't carry mine but I've wondered if I should. I checked all the time because I fish alot as well as hunt. They usually show up when you least expect it. Dan O. Yes....... I have, it was a couple of years,, Had ...

Typical tree hugger bias. Don't hurt the poor deer...Eff off.

It sounds like the men were hunting responsibly...the urbanites need to stay out of the part if they don't like it.

Oh...and the author is incorrect. Bows/crossbows are technically NOT firearms.

I love to hunt deer through all the seasons and like to fill one tag regardless of size. Its not a matter of filling the freezer to save money, but simply the enjoyment of eating wild venison. The areas I hunt don't have the numbers of deer that some of you may experience and to see a really large b...

Freezer Buck Down

Well, I finally tagged an animal this fall. My second deer with my Exomax. It was so beautiful yesterday afternoon, I decided to take off from work early. Great afternoon to put up a treestand for the muzzleloader hunt and some late season archery. But I thought, why not throw crossbow in and sit fo...

Re: On the ground

I have often wanted to hunt from the ground but you give up a lot in your ability to see deer. When I am 15 feet up I can spot deer that you would never see from the ground. When archery hunting it doesnt make much difference, but when rifle hunting it can be the difference between a shooter deer or...

Well, our work has a 10 day quarantine policy with anything that looks like H1N1 so I am working from home for the next 10 days regardless.

If I can recover quick enough, it might result in several early morning hunts :-)

O/T Is it me or are a lot of people getting sick this fall?

Man, after the archery hunt for moose I was sick for about 4 weeks...now after the gun hunt for deer...same thing.

Am I the only one getting beaten down by viruses this fall. Damn frustrating because I wanted to bow hunt this weekend.

Tom: I always have a plan B if I know he's in the bush. He doesn't have a Plan B. Well I think he does but it includes getting rid of me. The idea of hunting later in the season is a good idea and I still hunt spring turkey there as well. He doesn't as of now. I think I'll use his stands and his sc...

They are more succeptable to predation because they no longer blend into their surroundings (except winter) and stand out like a sore thumb. Don't know if you have ever seen a moose in a swamp, but their fur can make them really tough to see at times. How they heck does their colour make them suscep...

Re: Shared Property Access

Sigh...It seems to be the way in a lot of places in S. Ontario...I just keep looking for more and more permission. One day, I will have my own piece of land and will manage it for my own herd...free from that nonsense. I have permission to hunt a property along with a fellow I barely know. Last nigh...
