I like the looks of those. Over 6 inches of cutting surface according to the NAP website. But, just a 1 1/8th inch cutting diamenter. That makes for one long ferrule. Anyway, I like the wider cuts. Longer blades travelling down the same path will not do as much cutting as their wider counterpart. T...

Vixen

My buddy bought his wife the Vixen. Last week at the hunt camp was the first time I saw one. It shot well, but why such an ugly color? Why not a dipped camo? He's going to spray bomb some camo patterns on it with cedar branches for patterns to break up the look. He calls it deer hide brown, I think ...

NAP Razorcaps

Hi guys, I've been looking for a new broadhead since our hunting trip, and I've been contemplating the NAP Razorcaps with different ferrule weights for more KE. They are a cut on contact with 6" of cutting surface. Has anyone tried these out at all? I'm assuming since it's a 3 blade with 6 inch...

From what I've researched, (I'm having blood trail issues as well) is that a dull blade can actually push veins and arteries aside and not cause enough hemorraging. What constitutes sharp, I don't know. I do know that I haven't found a broadhead yet new out of package that I find sharp. Are these sh...

Congrats on the deer!! Were you all using the same type broadhead and did all three have similiar blood trails? I've found that hunting from ground level it's harder to get a solid blood trail. I try to set up shooting downhill, that helps. However, the deer don't always follow directions. My wife ...

that's a good question. my buddy took a doe all by herself and she had milk as well, but her teets were very small. We suspect she sent the fawn packing, but I thought it wouldn't make the winter. We've also seen 3 fawns, two of which we took, that came out alone. The last one I watched for 20 minut...

Here's a few pics of our deer along with what the steelforce phatheads did. I like the accuracy of them, but no blood trail at all. I think I'll try the slick tricks next year. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/hannahcarlo/_IGP0843.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/hannahcarlo/_IGP08...

I FINALLY DID IT!

I finally shot my very first deer! It's no hero, I figured I'd break the curse and took a button buck. Actually, this week we were all novice x-bow hunters and 3 out of 4 took their first as well. My buddy shot a nice 160# doe, and my wife took a doe fawn. We were both not too keen on taking fawns, ...

I voted already and it sure wasn't for gun grabbers! We were accosted by the NDP the following morning after the debate at work. They were begging for votes. I said did you watch the debate? He said yes. I told him I don't vote for gun grabbers with BS laws and bills to gain votes from uninformed pe...

I have an Equinox. I love it to death. I'm 6"0 at 236lbs so cocking it isn't a big deal. I can get away doing it with fingers but way not pleasant. With the factory weight arrows, I did noticed a lot of vibration but after researching on this fine forum, I went to a heavy bolt setup with the ST...

When I hunted Ottawa shotgun season a few years ago, we were hunting a cut over oat field. I was sitting with my back to a fence post with a deer trail to my left and right. About 2 hours later, I heard cracking, I figured DEER! A few moments later a partridge came out on my left and a few to the ri...

A) In terms of longevity, both technologies are rated for 60,000 hours to their half life ( ie half their brightness), which is about 27 years at 6 hours per day. Unfortunately , they haven't been around that long, so time will tell. However Panasonic and Pioneer plasma are rated at 100,000 hours. E...

OK Dan, we all know how you're going to vote, you can drop the one liners about your political choice. This is a hunting forum.

Wabi, what make of scope(s) were you using? Were they made for crossbows?
