Re: heelllp
You said you've taken it apart for cleaning, is that the trigger your talking about? If you replaced one of the original screws on the scope mount that can happen, as they can protrude into the trigger latch cavity. Even if the screws are 1-2mm longer they can jam the trigger. Also check the right s...

Re: Trigger mechanism loose screws
If the loctite isn't holding, its likely there's traces of grease or lubricant on the threads stopping it bonding properly.
Do your best to clean both the threads properly with a solvent before thread locking again.

The bowjax rubbers are good value, and relatively cheap on ebay too

Re: Stripped Screws
Well done with the screws.
Just a small tip, make sure your replacement screws are the the same length, definitely not longer. Even 1/8" longer, and you can jam the trigger in one position.

Re: Flat trajectory
I hear ya Dabluz, I come across many experienced vertical archers who try and tell me all sorts of rubbish The principals between the two are the same , so I don't understand where their logic comes from. I was told here by archers that crossbows are way to dangerous to use at their archery club. Be...

Re: Do I need a spare cocking rope?
I'd recommend it with heavy poundage bows. I always keep a spare string&cocking rope in the ute. I wouldn't want something so simple to ruin a good hunting trip.

That's a shame mate
The worst bit is not what they took, but your mrs won't feel safe and you don't feel you can leave the place anymore without worrying about your stuff.
Maybe time to use one of them infra red game cams looking back at the shack to identify this SOB.

Re: bolts astray???
Like Kegbelly has mentioned with the scope alignment, to me it sounds most the scope is not vertically aligned. You can get the Bow leveled on a table, hang a Plumb-bob "weight on a string" 20yards in front of the bow to line up your vertical reticule line, and turned the scope within the ...

Re: Rail lube?
I clean the rail with a light silicon spray and rag. The slight silicon residue left on the rail stops wax build up on the rail, and eliminates any friction between the waxy string and rail.

Re: Origin of Flemish Twist Strings
I agree with Boo, Europe, hence the name "Flemish" string. The ones I saw around Europe looked damn crude compared to the fine looking versions we see today. I went to a lot of medieval museums and exhibitions around mainland Europe and Scandinavia. Saw some interesting variations of cross...

Re: Trying before buying???
I get your point, there's a lot of unknowns involved when you don't get a test drive first. You could easily get influenced by a sales guy, and end up with a totally inappropriate bow. But luckily you still managed to get it right in the end

Even though its an isolated incident, its good you found this out "early" and are getting it dealt with Comfy. Good reminder for the rest of us to do a check on our gear and don't take the safety for granted.

What poundage bow are you shooting from & What distance are you usually shooting at?
Don't think you will go wrong on Big Johns arrows, I've never heard anything but praise about them.

Re: Broadhead weights
X2 on what vixen was saying about the fletching.
The difference between straight blazers as opposed to the strong helical blazers was like night/day with a fixed broadhead on the end. They definitely help even out any inaccuracies.

Re: Danny millers bumpers
For those outside the US the bumpers were very cheap on ebay. Hard to say so far but to me they seem to last longer and make the bow a little quieter than the standard ones.
