genes
Gary, Like I said, I read. I hope you're right, as our deer here are in sad shape. Hardly any mature in this part of the state.
My, but I hope you are right

late estrus
DaveHawk. Good luck on the quest! Looove a good challange. I've read that late breedings are a direct corelation of lack of mature, dominant bucks. Apparently the doe will wait for a good match, (survival of the gene pool increases if both doe and buck are prime.) Anyhoo, the does, being no pushover...

cocking device
Howdy, I've already been down this trail. The compnay people say their device, a "cockaroo" requires about 15 lbs to cock. Their rope cocking device lowers the pull by 50% and pretty well assures a well centered string. Yep, it is really, really important for the bow string to be centered ...

Big Horn Sheep
Hey Carl, Wyoming has limited drawings for big horn sheep licences. Each time you fail to draw you get a preference point for later drawings. So, theoretically, sooner or later you will get drawn for the hunt. This is the same system used for residents. I don't know about big horns, but I've been to...

incentives
For what it's worth, the state of Wyoming has a landowners slip on the bottom of your big game licence. If you get premission to hunt and you harvest on their land you give them the slip, which is worth $20.00 or some such. Thus, a practical incentive for land owners to allow hunting, and property r...

I assure you I have been viewed badly, as has all citizens of the United States. If it were not guilt enough that I live in my native country by free choice I am also an old, white male, the known scum at the bottom of the pond. Even the great Jimmy Buffett equates olde white men to government misdo...

Guest, (boy I admire these anonamous (sp) folk) I am very aware of the Hmong people. I am also a bit of a reader about Mongolia and it's effect on the known world in the days just preceeding and during the reigns of the Khans. I also am guilty of having a wierd sense of humor, thus "Mungolia&qu...
