Re: you meet some good folks here
I have met a number of fine people here and da griz is amongst them. I bought a knife from him last year, as a gift, and it was beautiful. Darryl was great to deal with and patient with someone who didn't understand much (read "anything") about making knifes. I'm hoping he comes back. Spike

Re: Ticks..... GRRRRRR
Ouch. We don't have a huge problem here (eastern Ontario, Canada)) but they do exist and are apparently getting worse. Is that stuff (permathrin) available commercially ?

Re: New to the world of crossbows
Welcome to the forum. If you intend to use your bow to hunt bear and moose, as well as deer, the vortex is a great choice. The phoenix would be a good choice as well. It's a bit easier to cock altho with the rope cocking aid the vortex doesn't pose a problem. The advice given by others to go to a bo...

apologies
Sometimes we read things and then get a bit ahead of ourselves with our eagerness to respond. And then, sometimes we say things we later regret. Once said, it cannot be taken back. The only thing to do is to apologize which takes a lot of guts and integrity. One of the Forum's best liked and respect...

I've shot several deer with them. Dependable and good blood trail.

Welcome. If the thumb hole stock & extras are what is attracting you, take the ibex. The axiom has received good reviews on this forum as well. So many good choices ...

Re: Forum Orders
I have ordered several sets of arrows from John. I have always been pleased with the product and the service. It is great to do business with a guy who does quality work and is trustworthy.

Re: dumb question
Even if it was a dumb question, which it was not, that doesn't justify an antagonistic, rude answer. Some people have too much time on their hands, or a burr up their butt, or both.

I'm shooting 415 g with the vixen. With the vortex I'm shooting 450 g. In both cases I'm using GT lasers with brass inserts. My arrows are made by Big John from this forum.

axiom
There have been a number of posts about the axiom, including several by new owners. The new owners seem pretty happy. A friend of mine is considering an axiom & asked me about the scope. I've read the description "multiplex' but that isn't telling me very much. What is the difference betwee...
