Re: Daco Hornet crossbow

Tom,I know you and I have conversed about finding a set of limbs for the Scorpion from time to time over the years! Looks like I will have one of the nicest Scorpion stocks to put up on my wall if nothing else!LOL!! We need somebody with a bit of creative skills to design a center support that would...

Re: Daco Hornet crossbow

Does anybody out there have a set of limbs for the old Daco Scorpion? I am looking for the 36" length, and 150 lb version! I thought the guy(foofoo) had the right one for sale when he listed a 150 lb set of limbs, but they were for the Hornet,as they were only 33". (he has since amended his ...

Re: TWILIGHT DLX

Set up my Phoenix with the DLX,and left the speed setting at 300 fps. A couple of minor tweaks up and to the right and all was reasonably good until I got out to 50 yards. All my shots at that distance were 3" high. That means that I will have to increase the speed ring to lower that impact poi...

Re: TWILIGHT DLX

I sort of felt that it will have to come down to a bit of trial and error to check out the actual drop at the various distances.
I made the commitment to buy one,so we'll have to figure out how to get there!
Thanks,

TWILIGHT DLX

Has anyone tried this scope on a slower bow? (like under the 300 fps min for this scope?) I have a Phoenix with a Lumizone that shoots very nicely set at 275 fps, using a 420 grain bolt. I have good accuracy at every distance from 20 yards right out to 50 yards with this setting. Looking at buying on...

Re: Huntfest, Orangeville

My buddy and I got there a bit too early and they had a big lineup to get in! It was a good show with a good cross section of goodies for every aspect of outdoor sports. Since I am a senior, the $6 entry was the right entry fee,but at $12 for everybody else,I thought that was a bit steep. Plenty of c...

Re: Grohmann knives

It was interesting to see my old posting on these knives resurrected again after so many years! I did buy their Centennial, and it will be used strictly as a display knife. That gives me three Grohmanns in my collection. For anyone looking for the supreme edge in a knife, you should look at the Buck 1...

Re: Turkey blind help

I bought a 12 foot length of camo mesh material, four feet wide and put four pieces of velcro at equal distances, with two of them being at the ends along one edge. Then I bought four small bamboo poles, and cut them to just over 4 feet long. I wrapped tape at one end of the poles to prevent the velcro...

Re: Bob, check out your rust

Guys,I now have to finish the story on this trigger mechanism that Don modified for me! He sent it back to me on Feb 8th,and it finally showed up here yesterday at noon! 13 days to travel from Scarboro to Brampton,a distance of less than 30-35 miles!! We can thank our good pony express at Canada Pos...

Re: I'll tell ya where you can stick your moose antler!!!

The reason I made that comment is that I did shoot a buck with that type of deformation to it's rack.
Unfortunately,I had not made a killing shot and somebody else got the deer!
I did manage to see what I had missed.
Long story!

Re: I'll tell ya where you can stick your moose antler!!!

I don't think that is a moose antler!
I think it is from a deer with a palmated rack!(whitetail)

Re: Bob, check out your rust

Don,my logic was that the WD-40 would do what it is designed to do,and that is displace the water.
Now that I know you put a special lubricant on the sear,I obviously will refrain from doing that.
I have all kinds of oils, penetrating and otherwise,so I will do the light touch as per your advice.

Re: Bob, check out your rust

I have some Camellia oil,and some Hanwei sword oil that I bought some time back to use on high carbon steel to prevent rust. I have never used them on my bow,but mostly on knives that can rust and both are a very light oil. Anybody out there ever used either one of them? Is one better than the other...

Re: Bob, check out your rust

Well, guys! I have to "fess" up and admit that the beautiful picture posted by Don is the trigger assembly that came out of my Phoenix! I have say that I probably was the most surprised of anyone! Sure looks like I will have to change my cleaning procedure after being out in inclement weath...
