Born and raised in the country. Moved to Toronto for work when I was 21 and "survived" there for 9 years. Moved back to Eastern Ontario a couple years back and we bought a home in the country on 3 1/2 acres. LOVE IT!! Hunt on my property and another spot 5 mins away.

I received an Eastman Outdoors # 10 hand crank grinder as a gift from my wife a couple years back and it has served me well. A litle sore on the arms if I grind a big load, but hey, no pain - no gain!! :D I have probably put at least 100 pounds of venison through it. I find that cutting the meat int...

I have a Moultrie. Not the best camera. It is slow to respond to movement. It has a stupid flashing red light prior to taking a pic, the deer can see it!!! I've covered it up with electrical tape. At night it uses a flash, which I'm sure has spooked some deer. Ditto all that. Mine was a gift - a G....

If you choose to do that, for goodness sake do not do it on eBay or some other public forum. Because in Ontario you will have 'splainin' to do if the CO comes a knockin'! He's in Virginia. Also I have seen racks and have known a few people who have different racks from yards sales. However I know i...

Leaving a stand in front of deer
It happened the other night. I didn't want to frighten these 3 does too much, and was waiting for that last minute shot before dark that never happened. Thought I was safe to finally leave my stand, when in walks this doe right under me. :? I was giving her some weird noises out of my grunt tube whi...

I'm borderline paranoid at night driving. And I drive alot for work (>4000km/month). I know it will happen sooner or later...had a few close calls though. My wife's the same way and I told her the same thing...it will happen sooner or later cuz of where we live. Hit the brakes.....just don't swerve!...

Man, I can totally relate. Took a shot like that 2 years ago, only I would say my shot was from about 12 yards, and about 17 feet up. Long story short, he hacked up tons of blood after he ran a bit, and it dwindled off (or we lost the trail?)after about 100 yards. I lost sight of him after he went 4...

I use bait(mostly apples) on my little chunk of land(few acres). The deer don't come through here naturally, so I have no choice. I just got permission to some large acreage(380 acres), so my plan is some serious scouting. I think I've already located a natural funnel there on google earth. It runs ...
