 Very funny Nudo7, buy I have to disagree with your choice of the plastic framed handgun. Browning High Power or Colt 1911A1 for me! I'm not just a southern republican, I'm a traditionalist old-school southern republican.

Out of Stock

I just got a call from the mail order place, they said the exomax is out of stock :( . Not a big problem really, they are expecting a new shipment at the end of the week. :D Is it the Excalibur crossbows in particular, or just crossbows in general that are such hot sellers :?:

Grizzled, let me see if I understand you. You can own a crossbow, but you can't use it for target shooting on your own property? That is insane! I've heard that in a certain province of Canada, you can own a rifle, but you can't store it in your own home. This sounds so similar it's scary. You guys ...

A one and one-eighth inch brace height gives the best velocity, from what I've read.

:D Welcome Sauerkraut! Not too shabby for your first post  While I am new to crossbow shooting, I've done a fair amount of reading on the topic, and I feel confident in saying that you can't go very far wrong with either the Phoenix or the Exocet 200. . . .although my bow of choice is the emax...

PSE Xbows seem to have a decent record as far as quality (they're one of the smaller crossbow manufacturers). The Vipor Copperhead is probably in the same class as the Excalibur Vixen as far as power goes, or close to the Vixen anyway. As many of this forum's members swear by the Vixen for everythin...

Re: stupid question.... but help?....

Guys, this is a stupid question, but instead of wondering.....Ill ask... do you all put sharp broadheads on your bolts? or can I still get a kill with the standard "Bullet" shaped head. - or do I need to get longer bolts (arrows) and put on the archary "sharp" heads? uhhh... do ...

Home Built Xbow Target

Does anyone have any thoughts on constructing a home-made target that will stop a high velocity crossbow bolt? I have a feeling the old "haybale lashed together with twine" system isn't going to be satisfactory for shooting the exomax. Funds are somewhat depleted after the recent crossbow ...

Strings

It seems that the older excalibur bows were equiped with dacron strings, which give lower velocity than fast flight strings. Do the new bows with molded limb tips come equiped with the "excelerant" strings I've seen mentioned? (Not in the kit, just with the bare bow.) If so, do the exceler...

O/T About Time!

The governors of Arizona and New Mexico have declared a state of emergency in the border counties. It's about time! :D
