tytoalba. I am going to have to tell you how to serve a string from the beginning. The only serving tool that I've found to work so far is the Cavalier Pro. No matter how hard I tighten the knobs on the Beiter I can not get enough tension on the spool. The wooden jig you are using cannot put enough ...

I doubt you are putting as much tension on the serving as I am. I see you are using a Beiter Winder. I have two of them and they cannot generate enough resistance in the spool to serve as tight as I like them. I think you should send me an email to get more information from me. I don't think the ma...

Thank you for the kind words David. You do reap what you sow in this case. You and quite a few others are held quite close to my heart and when close or far away I really enjoy your company! If it weren't for this forum my life would not be as rich is it is now.

Feathers are lighter and will result in faster arrow speeds out to almost 40 yards. http://www.trueflightfeathers.com/facts.htm
If you use feathers don't forget to water proof them.
You can also cut your rear insert in half or more to gain some FOC.

I found best accuracy to 200 yard with Federal and Winchester saboted slugs. I have never found any full diameter slugs to give any acceptable accuracy in my rifled barrels. The Brenneke slugs worked best in my Ithaca smooth bore but the range was only 80 yards.
