Well that sucks! If it was me, I'd grab a chunk of high molecular weight resin (plastic) I have in my shop and drill 3 holes comparable to the the original piece. Shaping it to look the same would add 5 minutes to the job but isn't even really necessary. You could also use a block of wood. I wouldn'...

Kanata Archery Club
I was wondering if there are any members of the Kanata Archery Club here. I'm looking for any info on their indoor and outdoor (3D) ranges, xbow friendliness etc. My son and I would be joining. Mainly for xbow shooting over the winter but some vbow as well. Also, if you are a member, do you find the...

I hunted hard yesterday. Snow past the knees with a frozen crust yet pouring rain and just slightly above the freezing mark. The bucks have lost their racks and I can only shoot bucks in this zone now. So now I've gotta see balls before I shoot. I hear ya about family / social commitments! I'd rathe...

This is one of the reasons why I'm tooling up to do my own fletching. The first day with the Phoenix I took the vanes off 2 arrows and trashed a third. Then I started picking different points on the target for each shot. I guess I'm a slow learner! Later, when I was verifying that the xbow was still...

Welcome Macobow! I don't just like my Phoenix - I loooooove my Phoenix! It'll shoot through a deer at 30yds no problem. At 40 yds it punches arrows twice as deep into my target backing (Black Hole) than my 150# PSE xbow did at 20yds. Like Bowster said, it's little bit lighter and perhaps not as loud...

Re: O/T Cold weather boots
Any of you guys up north have Schnee's or Kenetrek boots? A review would be appreciated. How far north are you going? 1200g thinsulate may be overkill for you. I use my old army issue combat boots early in the season. Then when temps get below 0c (32f) I switch to 500g thinsulate Lacrosse boots. Th...

Hmm. I may have ASSumed Wheelie was talking about a blood tracking dog. If you're talking about recovery of a shot deer then what I said about blood is pertinent. If you're talking about traing deer to find deer and track their trails then the metatarsal gland and deer legs should be used in the tra...
