What wood(s) do you use?
I used to shoot ash shafts when I used a longbow.
Almost indestructible, but a PITA to try to straighten & keep straight.

Re: New Handcocking device
Looks like a great alternative to a crank as long as the length you have to pull back is not longer than a normal cocking rope ,I am vertically challenged and long draw lengths are an issue. From my limited knowledge of pulley systems the traditional style of cocking rope is a 2:1 mechanical advant...

Re: TELL ME SOMETHING
The peep & fiber optic sights on the old models were just fine for hunting. You still didn't want to shoot more than one arrow at a spot when sighting in unless you were willing to buy more arrows. The only problem I had was a combination of old eyes and the failure of the FO front sight t...

Our muzzeloader season starts Saturday. Forecast is below 0°F Friday night. I think I'll let them live until it warms up some Sunday.

Re: Good bye my friendly companion.
Sad to hear. I had to make the same decision a few years ago for our beagle/jack russell mix, and it still bothers me. I know it was best for him, but it's one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. He was well over 12 years old though. (a "rescue" we had for over 12 years - didn't k...
