Re: It's 2017 already and I'm wondering if you noticed ?

They are all great bows Paul. Never figured out yet why they list the bows the way they do on the pages. The discontinued bows are mostly the older Exo bows with the 36" limbs and the Matrix 405 which was replaced by the Bulldog. It looks like the limb problems are all pretty much a thing of t...

Re: It's 2017 already and I'm wondering if you noticed ?

What exactly happened and what bows were affected? I've held back from buying any of the "newer" used bows on the boards because I remembered there were some issues, but I didn't stay in touch around here enough to get the gist of what was happening. I've noticed this, that when I"m o...

Re: What are the differences with Matrix/Micro lines compare

Haven't they had some limb problems with the smaller bows? If so, what?

Anyone shooting "Heavy" bolts?

Like in the 500-600 grain range? Are they as accurate as the bolts in the 350-450 grain range?

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Tell me about the HHA. What has been your experience?

Ah, I see. I've seen some clamping type Airgun mounts that are subject to the same type of recoil and they hold fine with moderately recoiling spring guns. If no one is having a problem with the mount moving then I don't guess there's a problem.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Setting up a hunting crossbow in "Scout" configuration.

Fair enough. It doesn't look all that adaptable after all, especially when a fast reload is needed

Re: Tell me about the HHA. What has been your experience?

Could someone take a pic of the underside of the HHA mount?

Setting up a hunting crossbow in "Scout" configuration.

Just in case some aren't familiar with the concept, here's a pic. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zsoIJi3LSKw/TrobyQBgTsI/AAAAAAAAAPY/c0jj9vSkUvQ/s1600/GSRp5rd.JPG The value is low magnification (which we already do) and this coupled with the extended eye relief allow for shots to be easily taken with bot...

Re: Tell me about the HHA. What has been your experience?

It just clamps on the rail at any place - nothing going thru the rail. It is the ultimate for precise long range shooting. You can use your variable power scope. I have HHAs on my M405 & BD400. They are extremely precise. I just don't understand how secure the mounting can be with just clamping...

What are the differences with Matrix/Micro lines compared to

the older models?

I mean I'm sure the Micros are smaller but is there anything else? Matrix? Do they compare to anything in the older models?

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Tell me about the HHA. What has been your experience?

I'm a huge fan of the HHA Optimizers. They work great but you do have to be extra careful not to drop the bow on the scope. Mine tipped over onto the scope a couple years ago at Boofest and that was enough to put a bend in the rail that I didn't know about until I shot two feet above a target at 30...

The concept seems straightforward but I'm concerned that they are fragile. What say y'all?

Re: Any of you guys run stock pads on your Excal?

Here's a little write up on them. They used to be widely available for less than 100. I have two on Airguns and ran on on an AR for years. Really good glass if you take the time to learn how to set them up.

Re: Any of you guys run stock pads on your Excal?

Thats an odd scope . And mounts . Is that an old scope ? It's a scope off of a Romanian PSL. 4x24. I found this one with a broken mount for less than $50. Cut the mount off. The front tube is 30mm. Schott glass, this one is an '82 model IIRC. The reticle is my Avatar. Here's what they look like in ...

I had an extra one lying around and tried it out. It will hold my rope cocker, restringing tool, spare string and even some serving wax. And it gives me that little bit of height I need to get right behind the scope. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/libertyman777/Archery/1E355329-297E-4D2C-946...
