I picked up my new Vortex on Friday. What a sweet crossbow!! I haven't had a chance to shoot it outside yet but it's driving tacks at 15 yards down in the basement. I haven't even adjusted the scope. I cock mine as soon as it's legal hunting hour. If I'm carrying it in my hands out in front of me I will load a bolt in it. If it's on my back I put the bolt away until I am set up or ready to hunt again.

I like the idea of the rubber band on the safety lever for extra safety.

Very sad to read indeed. Lots of questions to be asked and answered.
I have to agree though, night hunting seems like a real bad idea.

My black lab loves to help me split firewood. As I chop it she grabs the pieces and drags them all over the yard. Takes forever to collect it and stack it when I'm done splitting. I love that silly mutt!

Some nice big numbers there. I personally haven't seen more than 5 or 6 together this winter. A friend of mine watches a heard of 40 or so every night out behind his place. Gues where I'm hunting this fall!?!? lol
