Re: the revenant

saw the Revenant this afternoon. Makes Jeramiah Johnson look like a disney movie. Dang, Revenant was the most realistic depiction of frontier life I have ever seen. I got cold watching it and my feet are still cold. Shows they can still make a good movie without all the sex and queers and explosions...

Re: Your favorite.

Micro 335 gets my vote and I have owned, at one time or another, practically all of the Excals up to this year. Excals are my opium.

Re: Front grip do it yourself

I did the exact same thing only I used one of the collapsable grips. Mash a button and it folds up against the stock making it easier to put in my Excal zippered case.

Re: Worst than a woman

Oops. I said my back up bow was a 310. It is a 330 Matrix. Sorry. Had a brain fart. Neat thing about brain farts is they don't smell. Or do they?

Re: Worst than a woman

I have a nightmare and love it. Bought it after I bought my 355 which I bought after I bought my 310. The nightmare is my 'go to bow' after having shot the others, killing deer with all of them. Get your 335 and wait until he gets a 355 and shoot it. Then buy it too as a back up. I hunt primarily fr...

Re: OT: Open Carry

If you don't have a gun when you need one, you may never need one again. I carry. Have for years. In Texas, before open carry was passed, if your concealed carry could be imprinted (if you could see the outline of the gun in your pocket) you could be fined. With open carry, imprinting doesn't matter...

Changing where I aim on a deer.

In the past fifty years I have harvested over a hundred deer with arrows. Most with vertical bows, the last fifteen or so with Excals. I have always pictured in my mind that kill zone on a life sized target and aimed behind the shoulder. With an Excal the arrow is flying so fast most of the time it ...

Re: lighted nocks

I used lumenocks for a year and loved them. They were a little hard to pull out and turn off without using nock pliers. Had a problem I hadn't thought about. My son borrowed my back up Matrix 355 Excal and unfortunately I forgot I had removed one of the Lumenocks and stuck the arrow in my quiver. Yo...

Re: Ever Calm

Good stuff. Works for me. My only complaint is, after it exudes its good stuff, it leaves a white chalky residue where I rubbed it. No problem really. I wouldn't rub the stick in my armpits though.lol. Hmmm, on second thought....Naw.... Cheers

Re: Lighted Nocks or Not?

Lighted nocks are one of the many gadgets available to us. I for one am a gadget kind of guy. If you don't like them or can't afford them, don't buy or use them. I have killed over a hundred deer with arrows and never used a lit nock until they became available. Are they necessary? No. Nice? Yes. I ...
