Awesome pictures you got there GG375. That hog will go at least 350#'s live weight. Your lucky you guys got them babies running wild, we got to go to a hunt farm. This fall I shot a 110# der, with my open sights Vixen. I was going for the meat.
I backpacked around your great country about 16 years ago, for 6 months. Don't think I was sobre the whole time. Australia is one fun place, or one big beach, I recommend it to anyone.
Hooked up with a outfitter in Darwin. He took me out for Water Buffalo hunt. We got a nice one, and now them horns are hanging on my wall. Your Vixen would be a challenge on them babies.

What arrow/broadhead have you used? Have you get passthroughs with a vixen on these game? I am asking for that cause here in Brazil we are in expectation of government free the boar hunt.

Thanks for looking. Yep I'm really pleased with the performance of the Vixen. I've been using Excal vaned, carbon shafts and Wasp cam lock broadheads. These are the 1 1/16" diam heads not the wider series II ones.
Where I live it is the end of the dry season (35 - 40 degrees celcius) and food for the hogs is not plentifull. What I do is I find a horse or cow carcase that has signs of hogs feeding off it and make a hide about 20m away on the down wind side. I then camp there for the night with my swag rolled out inside a mozzie dome. I have my quad bike covered in army camo netting and a spotlight rigged up to point at the carcase. Sometimes the hogs come in before dark but the old lone boars come during the night. I just go to sleep when I'm ready and when a big old boar starts feeding I hear him clicking his tusks as he chews, wake up, cock and load the Vixen, flick on the spotlight and take the shot. Usually the shot hog only runs 10 or 20 feet and goes leg up. I try to avoid walking out to check but sometimes the temptation is too great and I do. I love it.
I have been wondering if a more powerful xbow might be more suitable - I would like to be able to set my blind up a bit further away - like 40m. Which model would have the grunt to work the same at 40m as the Vixen does at 20?
Also would there be any advantage changing to the larger diam series ll cam lock blades - assuming they will fit into the heads I have?
And to answer some of your questions - where I live there are feral pigs, feral horses, feral cattle and dingoes to hunt. Of the 8 boars I've shot I got pass thrus on about half of them.

In your third picture I can see the dead carcasses behind you. Got a question for you GG, have you ever gone after kangaroo's with your xbow? When I was here many moons ago, I had the chance to work on a ranch, my job............... cull some of the BIG REDS. Had achance to eat some kangaroo meat, "not to bad".
The xbow you want for 40 meter shots is either a new Exocet, previous model Exomag or for the gusto, the Exomax. I like your style of hunting, camping over night.

Yeah I like it too - I can sit in a chair and have a couple of scotches and enjoy the surroundings then hit the sack when I'm ready!!
Haven't had a crack at a roo yet but it will come in time as there are a few about.
I'm going to seriously consider those models you mentioned - I wonder how much harder it is to cock 225 lbs compared to the Vixens 150? I use a rope cocking aid.
