Exomag or Exocet

Post by diesel »

I found a dealer that still has 2002 model Exomags 200 lbs new still limbs $ 429.00 US . I can buy the new 200 lbs Exocet for $449.00.
Has anyone owned both of these ? or what do you think would be the best buy?
I would like to hear any Imput you have. This is a Gift for my brother from his wife.
Thanks

I, at one time or other, have owned and tried every Excalibur made.

Currently owning 3, (Exomax, Exomag200, Exocet 175), my preferred model for hunting (and best hunting crossbow ever made) is the Exomag200. For 3D use it's a toss up between the Phoenix and the Exocet175, with the slight edge going to the my Exocet175. Too bad that they don't make an Exocet or a Phoenix with a 15" rail.

Of course that's only my opinion.

From what I hear diesel, the old Exomag's are the best. Their more forgiving on the limbs. I'm hearing this from some of the best or most knowlegable Excalibur owners.

Exocet 175

I own an Exomax, an Exocet 175 and a Vixen and shot all other Excaliburs, but to my mind the Exocet 175 is the best in handling and forgiving. It takes a 385 grain bolt up to 300 fps and thats enough for 3D and hunting.

I've been shooting the Mag200 for a few years now and would'nt give it up for field use. While I find it to much bow for 3D with field points I'm sinking arrows up to the fletching.
