I think the general consensus of the forum members is that all Excals are equally accurate. The only thing that basically varies is the speed.

Some have said that the Exomax is hard on strings.

It is as deadly accurate as the shooter is capable. Once sighted in with the scope properly if you are steady it hits where it is aimed. And I might add gets there very fast!!

There is NO string problems. The exomaX is just harder on strings cause their high poundage. This is absolutely normal and expected from a powerfull bow like the exomaX.

Believe me, exomax was my first excalibur bow. Since my first shot I have a passion for she. Today I also have one exocet 175, its also great.

Is it the extra poundage or the longer power stroke? I would think that it would be the extra friction recieved from the longer power stroke.

Prariewolf, it's not as serious as you are thinking. I admit, I don't own one, I do have a couple other Excal models. But I would think you'd still get hundreds of shots off a string.

String wear

Post by Bucktail »

My max is over a year old and I know I have nearly 500 shots on it, as I did a lot of chrono work with it. The center serving is finally beginning to show a little wear. I keep the string well waxed. The string is a Flemish Fast Flight.

I would like to know what type and size of serving to use to reserve the string. Anyone know?

with a string that is over a year old and 500 shots out of it, i would probably just purchase a new one...keep the old one for an emergency spare...

On my exomaX, I am getting 300~400 shots per string, keeping it well waxed. The exocet 175, more than 500 shots.

If you wanna a high poundage bow, exomaX worth it.

For sure, I don´t let the serving wear too much before replace the strings. I replace them before, when the serving begins to loose.

As far as accuracy - if it has Excalibur on it - it might as well be call Exozactly - cause it's going to hit exactly where you're aiming when you pull the trigger :D
