Good news!!

Post by grizzled47 »

Hi there!
Today I got a mail from my immigration advisor saying that my permanent residence visa had been granted! WHOOOPEEEEEE!!! It has been nearly a year, and a lot of money along the way, but we got there!
I took a bit of a gamble buying a home and everything, but I thought I would be ok...and I was!!
My wife Mary and I are overjoyed at the news and, although this is a personal thing, I wanted to share it with all you guys on here! I love Canada, and the people I have met here. It's still all new to me, and I have to adjust to the diferent culture, but I am very happy, and that is what matters most!
Now we are going to celebrate with a nice bottle of Red!!
A very happy Grizzled!!!

Congratulations John :D

Permanent residence visa. All settled in. Good for you.

Now that you've got a visa and a house, when are you and Mary going to start a family  ?

Hi Maple,
Thanks for your reply. As for starting a family, it's a bit late in life for that. I'm 59, and Mary is 57, so i don't think we will have much success there...though it might be fun trying!!
We both have grown-up children from previous marriages, so we don't need to worry on that score. Actually, we have just aquired a dependant....a kitten!! We found it living in a pile of rocks out in the brush.
It now has a good home, and has settled in well.
We celebrated my visa last night with a good bottle of wine, and a bonfire!! :) It was very nice of everyone to send their good wishes, and I look forward to sharing stories with you guys on here in the months ahead.
Cheers,
Grizzled.

Does that mean you're staying?

Just kidding. Congrats. This side of the pond sure as heck beats that side of the pond.

Hi Maritimer,
This is the reply I got from the minister when I requested that he look into the question of hunting with crossbows in New Brunswick. This was a few weeks ago. At least I got a reply, which I didn't expect!!
Grizzled.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your correspondence on cross bow hunting in relation to the New Brunswick Fish and Wildlife Act.

I have provided Natural Resources Officials with copies of documents from the web site you referenced and I have asked them to explore the issue. I will respond to your request once I am provided with the necessary information.

Sincerely,

KEITH ASHFIELD
Minister

PS> If you would like to see a copy of my letter to him, I can post it on here again.
