New and Hooked

Post by doeser »

I'm fairly new to bowhunting, Last year I was invited to go out by my father-in-law, and brother-in-law. I borrowed an Exo-mag from my
father-in-law. On my second trip my eagerness got the best of me
I took a fawn in the heart. After taking some serious ribbing about the size I got some congratulations. I told them I warming up for a bigger target. Two weeks later I got my mature doe. Not huge but a very resonable size. By that time I was hooked. Over the summer I bought a Phenox. My first trip out with it this year I passed up a reasonable doe waiting for the buck I figured that was behind her. He didn't show.
Last Sat my second trip with Phenox . I took the biggest doe any of our gang has seen either bow or gun hunting. Our area is issueing multiple doe tags to control population so I don't feel guilty. Hooked on bow hunting and Excalibur :D

Congratulations Doeser. The last time I checked I couldn't find any recipes for antler stew.

Congrats Doeser, on your trophy doe. Mount the doe up on a plaque, and save room for a buck in the future. A buck and a doe mounted side by side is one of the nicest mounts I've seen.
