Bought the Vari-Zone Scope Last night

Post by NightTrain »

It's a xmas present from my wife. Therefore, I cant dial it in just yet. You know, it has to go under the friggen tree.

I have a Phoenix with the bars and sound dampeners on the string. Im shooting 360 grain bolts. Should I set the variable to 295fps????

Whats working for others with a similar set-up?

thank again

You can set it to arround 300fps but that is only a starting point! :(
You will still need to follow the set up procedure to dial it in corectly.
IE, set the crosshairs on at 20 yards, then move to 40 yards and adjust only the fpm ring until you find the sweet spot.
The likelyhood is you will be close, my exocet was, but you should still do this, especially if you forsee any shot over 20 yards.
Hey, any excuse to shoot the bow is all good, right?

honestly, Im not seeing much value in the string silencers. xbow is still loud when fired.

Are they really needed? :?

No. Most don't bother with them. They will probably blow apart before long.

BSTOUT, just curious why do you take off DB's when hunting?
Is there an advantage? I agree about silencers for me it didn't do anything but slow me down a little.

Thanks Buckman :D

bstout,
When taking off the DB bars, what effect ( if you know), did this have on velocity or any other effect it may have had on the xbow? I also question the value of the bars. Bill
