Hard case for Exocet???

Post by joeumholtz »

Is there a manufacturer out there that makes a crossbow hard case that will fit Excalibur bows? Or am I forced to take break it down and use a rifle or shotgun case?

My apologies if this question has been asked a thousand times before. :)

Unfortuntely the answer is NO. I use a double gun case for my Excals. You'd ned a truck or small trailer to haul a hard case for a recurve. Two bolts and its apart and no need to resight your bow.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. :)

I have the truck....and the trailer. :D

Just didn't want to go through the hassle of breaking it down to transport it to my hunting spot. Guess I'll be taking up Carpentry 101 this Spring. :D

joeumholtz, there's no hassle, 2 bolts that hold the riser to the rail- it take less than 2 minutes to break the bow down and less to put it together. It take less time for my cross bow to go together than it does to put my take-down recurve together.

Digger,

Is that a Flambeau double case? If it is a Flambeau it seems to be pretty inexpensive. Looks like a good way to carry a xbow behind the truck seat.

it is it a law North of the border to case your Bow??? I know some States require you bow or gun to be cased while traveling after hunting hours are over.

In Ontario you need to have your bow in a case 1/2 hour before or after sunrise or sunset while in the bush. IT does not have to be a hard case, but could be any case including a soft case.

Thanks Digger. Think Midway has them on sale. Around $23 but they are currently out. When they get them back in stock I think I'll get one. Seems a little long at 53" though but it will work.

Digger,

Does the case accommodate the quiver mounting bracket, or do you need to remove it also?

You'd be better off removing the bracket. I use a Vista hip quiver and belt with my bow when I hunt.

Thanks Digger.

I've actually been thinking of doing something like that. I don't have a real handy place to hang a quiver when I'm in my tree. Hunting public land negates using nails or screws or cutting limbs. Your hip quiver might be the ticket. Now the question is can I get one to fit a size 52 waist. :-)

Lucky, lucky you, they come in up to 52" in xxl. I'm a 50 " waist and mine has lot of room to expand.

hard crossbow cases

Post by Young Buck »

i have a hard crossbow case. Mine is made by flambo. But Plano also makes crossbow cases. I bought mine from deep river outfitter in canada. I have seen the plano cases at cabelas and le baron. The case will cost you around $100 Canadian

Young Buck, do you own an Excalibur recurve xbow, I have sought a hard case for years and not found one that fits Excalibur xbows. Flambeau & Plano both make hardcases for compound xbows neither to my knowledge make their case more than 30 inched wide when you need a case at least 37 " wide. A Flambeau double gun case is available at Canadian Tire for under $50 Can.
