More Hunting Pictures Grey Owl

Ignore the dates on the pictures. These were taken in fall of 2005.

Our ruffled grouse hunting camp, near Top Lake.

Me standing by by my quad, with 5 freshly killed Ruffled Grouse. Came up on a whole family.

My hunting partner Willy (whose 75).

My son Colton with his first Ruffled Grouse, shot on our land.

Colton with his 2005 Doe. He shot this baby on one of our Alfalfa fields.

#16 No I didn't get the buck weighed, but he is one of the biggest bodied bucks I ever shot or seen dead. The picture does no justice, he concentrated growing his body rather than his horns. He's not the biggest one I ever got. But at the time, I didn't get a clear look at his horns, none the less I'm happy.

Shifty Alberta's been awful tempting to move to, for the big money with my job, but I don't think I could even come close to buying the land I got, over there.

Normally when I go hunting Ruffled Grouse on our property, I walk all morning or afternoon. But that trip I took with Willy we used Quads to cover more ground. Willy being 75 years old has a hard time walking 300 yards. We put on 204 Kilometers (122 miles), ending up with 26 birds. We never saw a sole the whole time on the trails, except for one camp of Moose hunters, which were out hunting at the time. I real reason I go with this fellow, is the companionship and camaraderie and all the hunting stories that go along with it. He showed me where over a dozen lakes are situated, with great fishing.

One day in the near future I plan on taking both my boys up with me hunting and fishing this area.

I send another post with some bigger bucks I've taken, with field pictures and maybe a Plains Buffalo Hunt which is hopefully coming up this Saturday. Suppose to go last weekend, but was called into work.
