A little off topic but I was watching the return of the Pink Panther.
During the theft scene, the theif uses a very cool looking crossbow.
It looks like stainless steel and you can clearly see them cock it with some sort of cocking lever.
I just wondered if anyone knew what kind of bow it was, or is it just a Hollywood creation?
Anybody Know?

Re: Return Of The Pink Panther
I know the answer to this one!
The crossbow in the Return of the Pink Panther (1975) was designed for the movie by Bernard Horton and featured a built in cocking device. The crossbow was never produced commercially but Barnett based the design of their Commando crossbow on it.
Another interesting piece of movie crossbow history; the weapon that Chewbacca carried in the original Star Wars trilogy was one of the original metal skeletal Horton Safari crossbows (also designed by Bernard Horton) with a few things added on.
