check to see if the glue is stuck to either surface each and every time. if the glue is on some shafts and on some vanes they MAY have been touched prior to glueing, preventing good adhesion. if the glue was stringy or on both pieces then th glue has a cohesion problem. moisture and/or finger prints/breath could be culprits also.

duravanes, combined with their duraloc glue, lets you do a vane in less than 10 seconds...(then try and pull it off  )...anyone using an arizona fletcher, duravanes and duraloc, can turn out a complete bolt in less than 30 seconds...there's a lot of stuff out there, but this is one of the proven and best methods to go !!!!!...

That's the setup I use. No problems.

I fletched up some arrows that I had spray paint crested with white acquer.

I used Bohning Blazers straight out of the package and Loc-tite Suprer Glue Gel and you couldn't pull the vanes off with a pair of pliers..

I may have to look into some... I'm sick of my duravanes rinkling when I burry them.

I was searching the forum for info on the Blazers and ran across this...

Woody,
Do you still like them?
Did you use them this season exclusively?

Anyone use them on a Beman Thunderbolt shaft?

I figure they have to help up the FOC with the heaver Beman shaft, right?

Thanks!

Bohning Vanes Revisited

Check to see where the dried glue stays,if they are coming off that easy.
From what you have been describing,I would suspect the the glue is staying on the shaft.
I would recommend that you wipe the base of the vane with acetone first, before applying the glue.
I see that recommended by some vane manufacturers.
Worth a try.

Bob, thanks.
I was more looking for experience with the blazerr vanes (as in flight performance) than gluing issues.

I haven't had a chance for further testing between 4" turkey feathers and 2" blazer vanes but I think Im going to lay my money down on the turkey feathers for better accuracy. Im just not sure yet  I will keep updated when the time comes. Im not much help other than I can say that the Bohning fletch-tite platinum glue seems to work great on my Laser II's with both the blzer vanes and the turkey feathers.
