Great looking buck Mike. Your face looks familiar, did I see that picture on another forum last fall?

BTW, Welcome to Excal's forum.

Yes, I did post this pic last fall after I shot it in the last week of Oct. It was on the huntontario site. As for a story behind the harvest.. Well that really is a story. It started one afternoon leaving work. I took my camo's to work and my new bow. I had another 45 min run to my treestand over by the sandbanks in the county. The weather was Perfect! The wind was in my favor which was very little at that. I knew there was a big boy in there because the farmer buddy that owns the sugar bush seen him on a regular basis. I set out my buck urnine on a stick about 30 yrds in a field in front of my stand. The breeze was hitting me face on and the secnt was travelling behind me in the bush. I was calling every 10 min or so. The sun was setting over my left shorder in a fireball of light. I was about to call it a night and decieded to give it one last bleet. My shooting lane s were down to one that I could shoot clear with the remaining light. I decieded to stand up from my seat and look behind me and heard a noise and noticed a pair of legs in the bushes. Then my heart got loud!! I froze and then noticed it moving down the path I walked in on. The head of the head of the deer dropped and the buck was going to walk pass the one and only opening I had. I Knew it was a buck but not really sure how big but I had only one shot and it had to big a good one. I pulled up on the varizone scope and planted it on the only clear opening I had. It happened fast! the buck walked right into the clear veiw of the scope, WHACK! I knew I hit it. The big boy played his last jump dance for about 20yds and stopped and walked slowlly away.As I stood there trying to clear the built up air that I let go in the trousers of my camo I could hear the buck walking away in the distance. Man I was shaking like a stick! All I could see when I shot was rack when the buck ran after I shot. The arrow went right through the lungs and top of the heart at a 25yd shot. Hour and a half later with the help of a friend we followed a surprising little blood trail. He never really left a huge trail! I was surprised. The buck was about 100yd away from the stand that I shot from. After cleaning and dragging him to my car, that was the funny thing.. We had to put him in my VW jetta. That a whole different story!!
