i agree with you WW, really makes no sense why crossbows can't be used.

I thought that Pennsylvania had a crossbow season.

Anyone from Pa that can shed some light on the situation?

You can hunt with a xbow in any serason except archery. To use a xbow in archery you must have a disabilty permit. Signed by doc saying you can't use a regular bow. If you know the right doc or are trully disabled all you need is 5.00 for the permit***********ogo

Crossbows are permitted during the regular archery season in management unit 2B (Pittsburgh and suburbs)

Probably because the UBP is still vocally adamantly anti-crossbow. or as most of their members call them, crossguns. Of course, they have lost about 2000 members the last couple of years, so maybe they will have a bit less sway in Harrisburg.
