If using archery equipment (arrows)
Point of Aim on a:
Side shot - where the wing joins the body.
Front shot - where the beard is attached to the body (just below neck)
Rear shot - if tail is fanned (the "poop shute" ie: a-hole), otherwise backbone, just ahead of base of tail.
Happy Hunting.
Good hunting.

Here is a link from the NWTF that shows shot placement at the bottom of the page. A little write up as well.

I used to have another site with better pics but can't find it right now but will keep looking.
Hope this helps for now.

I found my old links but very few of them work today. But I was able to retrieve the pictures form my old computer so I will post here.
The back shot is the best as the bird is normally looking away and any shot on the center of the back will drop it on the spot.
With a strutting bird it is a litle different, the fan blocks your sight of the kill zone and the body is usually at a different angle.
The side shot is good if ou can get little or no movement in sighting in on the bird. Right at the base of the wing where it attaches to the body.
The toughest shot, but in my opinion, the prettiest is the head on shot. I normally try to wait for a side shot over the head on shot as the bird is looking at me. In conditions like this, I try not to move any in fear of spooking the bird. But if you deceide to take this shot, right at the base of the beard. Try not to cut the beard off when taking this shot, might be difficult in explaining to the check station as to why it no longer has a beard . Honestly I do not think that would be a problem, but who knows .
Hope this helps all that might need it.
