The blades might catch onto the stirrop and cause you some injury.

With most crossbows you will not be able to use the 4" version of the head. You will have to go to the smaller (I believe it is the) 2 1/2" version.

I have seen a video of these heads hitting the body of a bird and bouncing right off. I believe that they are for neck shots only.

I think a good fixed blade broadhead and a scorpio is definitely the way to go.
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

This is an ARROW ARRESTER which I find to be the best on the market. They will slide on the arrow shaft (spring loaded) which applies tension. Just fit it behind the head, then when it strikes an object, it does its job.

These are 4 prong and are size determined for the arrow shaft you are shooting.

the gobler gilotine, they recomend carbin shafts they said they can bend the alu. ones on inpact. the 4" get in the way of the stirup, I talke to the guy who was cutting longer shafts but I don't know how they shoot.
I just bought some of those scorpios arrow arestors, I can't wait to try them out on a trurkey.
I tryed one out on my target at 10 yards(limited space) the shaft went in 5" but the inpact sent the scorpio all the way down to the fleching.
they are the correct size they are difficult to slide down by hand.

Thanks but I think I'll stick with body shots using the scorpios and broadheads for the reason that the vitals on turkeys are small enough, so why shoot for an even smaller target?

The Guillotine is effective from Crossbows.

Post by Arrowdynamic »

The 100 grain Guillotine was developed specifically for crossbow shooters. The Guillotine kills the bird in less than 1.5 milliseconds. Doesn't get any more lethal than that. The neck/head area is a huge kill zone in comparison the internal vitals.
Should anyone have a particular question on the broadhead other than those assumptions made and posted thru ought the internet. Just call. I'll be glad to answer so you can make an informed decision..not simply be pursuaded by a less than knowledgable person with a closed mind telling you what you should shoot.
Consider that the state of Oklahoma changed the law to ALLOW the Guillotine to be used due to its proven effectiveness. First in the history of the sport where that has happened.
Good hunting with whatever you choose to chase them with!
