Alberta's No. 1 cougar....

Post by bushmaster »

The cat is a new Alberta record at 16 2/8. was 225.5 lbs nose to tail 97.75 inches long 19.5 inches at the shoulder. I doubt if there are many taken every year here. How does it compare in size to yours ?

Nice looking animal.

Do people eat those, or are they for taxidermy only?

I hear we have them here in Ontario, but I've yet to see one. I'm pretty sure we don't have a season for them.

I don't think many here eat them but I know the boys south of the border do.

I hunt up near your area J and two of the guys in our group had one of those growl at them a couple years back when they were trying to get thier truck out of a bit of a hole....two seasoned hunters and they both said the sound of the thing made the hair stand up on the backs of thier necks..
