Toronto Sportsman Show

Post by Big John »

On Saturday the 18 Th. of March I will be there. I thought that if anyone else is going to go that it would be a good time to meet others from the forum. We could all meet at the Excalibur display at say 11: 30 am. Meet and greet as well as talk to the Reps. from Excal. there. Maybe have some lunch. Nothing to heavy, mostly just put a Face to the names. I'm always looking forward to the Sportsman Show at this time of year.
Hope to see some of you there. :)

pphoenix,

On the contrary...
I didn't find the turkey seminar to be boring at all.
I found it to be interesting, and quite informative.

We'll see you guys there. Satruday will be a good day to go, Bill is doing a seminar at noon and Rob and I will be manning the booth. Should be a good show!

I'll be going to the show as well. The turkey course is interesting and sometimes funny. If you don't have a hangover the course will move fast.

The test at the end is rediculously easy though....

I won't be able to make it there on Saturday, I have to work that day. I'm either trying for Wednesday or Friday. Anyone else going those days?

I think it is a good course. Not expensive and not too long. It is a lot of common sense, ethics and and good hunting practice. Not a difficult course if you pay attention. It never hurts to have a refresher on hunting ethics and safety. There are some idiots and ignorant people out there, this course hopefully, helps to minimize that number.

I for one found it very informative. The day you stop learning you might as well hang it up.

Well said ecoaster, I took that course at the show last year, being fairly new to hunting I got alot out of it.
funny story:
Three older guy sitting next to me during the cource didn't say boo to me the hole time. Then when they started to hand out the test these guys introduce themselves and start to chat it up, ok no problem. ( theres two tests so your neibours is dif.) then during the test instuctor is walking the isle next to me and these guys are asking what the answers are, qustion for qustion and the guy next to is reading me his question and all four opions asking which one is right.

Rather make the instuctor keep his word, I said I would not help out,
I figured if they couldn't handle this, they shouldn't be hunting.
