Is this for real?

Post by DesertRat »

There are 5 Exocet 200s on ebay Canada right now. I know a fellow had a bunch on last year but reports were coming in that people didn't actually get the bows. ANyone here buy on last year? Did you actually receive them and is this the same guy?

Anytime something is that cheap I have to wonder? I hope it's not one of those "They fell off the back of a truck and I found it" deals.

Partikle, do things really fall off trunks.

I find it very surprising. Usually Excaliburs are rarely available on eBay.ca. Now out of the blue, there has been a total of nine (9) Exocet 200's available.

According to my calculation after paying the normal fees: 5.25% eBay, 2.9% PayPal fees, and about another $15 shipping, the seller ended up getting only $350.00 each.

I don't know of any dealer who can get them, let alone sell them, for that price.

Isn't it also kind of strange that only Exocets were offered, shipping was free, and local pickup was not allowed. :?

Could it be that some "resourceful buyer" scored a "good deal" at the Toronto Sportsmen Show, and decided to anonymously share their good fortune with those who couldn't resist being part of such a "good deal".

Only time will tell.

Well guys, count me in as one of those "possible" owners of one of these Exocet 200's!
I took the gamble, and it looks like someone took two of the last three to finish off the last group.
I too tried to contact them to ask if I could see them first, and never got a reply.
I have had three bad experiences buying knives off of ebay, where after the sale closed, and I had won,I was told that the person did not have it in stock, and my money was refunded.
These items I had won at real deals,so I was not a happy camper.
On top of that, you lose on the exchange rate converting the money back to Canadian.
I got my original Exocet off of ebay, and I am very happy with it.
This one I was buying for my son,so let's hope that they come through with the item.
I think that everyone who bought one should post their comments,if and when we all receive them!!
I too am keeping my fingers and legs crossed!

The sellers feedback looks pretty solid. All his auctions are same format, shipping included, and he has sold a few high dollar items already in his feedback. A couple $500.00 and a $900.00 camera's. Looks like it would be worth taking a chance on.
